Sales tax in the United States

Artlist purchases may be subject to sales tax according to the billing address on the account. Sales tax is a non-refundable tax and its rate is determined according to the state and local tax authority. Tax rates vary between states and zip codes and can change over time depending on local tax requirements.

Prices on the pricing page don’t include sales tax. Sales tax may be included on the payment page, if applicable, and will be shown on a separate line.

You can also see the details of what you’re being charged on your invoice, check out this article here.

If your account renewed with a payment based on a billing address which isn't up-to-date, please reach out to Support.

Tax exemption in the United States

If your billing address is in a state where Artlist purchases may be subject to sales tax and are registered as tax-exempt, please share your document with our Support team. For every state, you need to share:

  • Territory/state in which the business is enrolled
  • Valid exemption certificate
  • Business Type - must match the information on the exemption document
  • Business Description

If you submitted your tax exemption form, you might still be charged on your bill if:

  • The exemption certificate was still in review when the invoice was issued
  • The exemption certificate covers a state that’s different from the billing address
  • The exemption certificate expired. If you have the new certificate please send it to Support

For any more questions, please contact Support.
